Be Happy in Life

Friday, September 16th, 2011

Being a teenager is sometimes hard; the stresses of school, your friends, and of course your parents. You want to be able to please everyone, so you forget about making yourself happy. This doesn’t help anyone, it makes you sad and distant and the people that love you start to worry about you. Sometimes this causes contention and anger because you do not see yourself changing, when the people around you see drastic changes in your behavior.

Now I want to talk to those people who know teenagers like this. This is a hard time in their life; they are trying to find themselves while making everyone around them happy. This creates a lot of stress which they cope with by receding from things they love to do. It doesn’t do them any good for you to get angry at them and jump to conclusions like sending them off to wilderness therapy programs. This just angers your child or friend and makes them less receptive to help. If before you start trying to find clinical ways to help your teen. How about you just try to lighten their load? Maybe give them less chores or more time to be with friends. Once they start to feel better about themselves they will be more willing to talk to you. If you can do this it will cause less damage to all parties involved.

Those teens out there who do struggle though it isn’t just your parents or friends problem to deal with. You can learn to cope with problems and still be the same person to everyone. So the next time you are feeling down don’t keep it to yourself. Involve a parent or a friend they love you and want to see you succeed. If you don’t, your parents might decided to put you in a wilderness programs for troubled youth. So watch out and be happy!
